Congressman Valadao in CA’s 22nd Congressional District

On February 25, all but one House Republican voted to cut up to $800 billion from Medicaid. It’s a tremendous betrayal of their constituents and often a direct betrayal of promises they made on the campaign trail.

We’re going to hold them to account, and we’re starting with Republican Congressman David Valadao in California’s 22nd Congressional District, who represents one of the most Democratic districts held by a Republican. His district also has the highest percentage of Medicaid recipients in the country – a whopping 68%! Write to voters most likely to be impacted and ask them to call their member of Congress and tell him to protect MediCal (the name for Medicaid in California.) Mail postcards as you complete them and by May 15 at the latest.

Ohio

We are writing to Democratic voters in rural areas and key Congressional Districts to let them know that their Republican Senator voted for budget bills that would cut funding for Medicaid and decrease taxes on billionaires. This information may not be getting through to voters via other media. We are also asking voters to call Senator Husted’s office and tell him not to cut Medicaid. Mail your postcards as you complete them and by June 1, 2025.

Update on New York’s 21st Congressional District - The President has withdrawn Congresswoman Stefanik’s nomination for the UN post, so there will not be a special election for NY21 in the near future. Maybe they realized they couldn’t win? Please do not send postcards for this election; you can just delete any info you have and sign up for one of our accountability campaigns!
